OVERVIEW

Established in 1891 by John L Keane, Grandfather of current Partners David A Keane and Mary C Keane, we have a long-established history of providing professional and thorough legal services to the people and businesses of Youghal and the surrounding hinterland in Cork and Waterford.

Drawing on immense experience, John L Keane & Son LLP has evolved to be a modern firm, working hard to meet the needs and represent the best interests of our clients.

John L. Keane was born in Castletown/Ballyagran in County Limerick in 1869. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1890 and was awarded the Silver Medal in the Law Society’s final examination. With the encouragement of his older sister Mary who had married a Youghal man and had moved to the town, he set up practice in Youghal in 1891. John L. Keane continued to practice until his death in 1956.

His son Timothy Kevin Keane qualified as a Solicitor in 1927 having also secured a Silver Medal in the Law Society’s final examination. On qualification he joined his father in practice and continued in practice until his retirement in 1985.
